The mock cheque of RM10,000 raised from various activities during the Pink October was presented by Ch'ng Lin Ling, CEO of PMC to Ranjit Kaur , the president for BCWA.
ParkCity Medical Centre (PMC) presented a cheque of RM10,000 to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA), as part of the hospital’s Breast Cancer Awareness month campaign and to support the association’s various community projects.

PMC initiated several activities to raise funds for the association, such as sale of Pink October-themed goodies including umbrellas, bags and cancer themed T-shirts “I am, I will.”

The launch of the month-long campaign kicked off with activities including a bra decorating contest, outdoor yoga class, creative photo booth and games followed by a healthy lunch spread. Cancare shared the benefits of breast prosthesis and customised mastectomy bras while Neubodi conducted an informative Bratology session on breast health and importance of wearing the right bras.

PMC hosted a discussion by Pink Warriors who shared their personal journeys in surviving cancer.

“As the trusted healthcare provider in the community, PMC has been in the forefront to educate the public on the importance of breast self-examination. We also have highly trained breast care nurses and screening and examination by specialists to provide advice and consultation to our patients,” said PMC Chief Executive Officer Ch’ng Lin Ling.

“Our ParkCity Medical Centre is equipped with high-resolution ultrasound and mammogram tomosynthesis machines to provide accurate diagnosis. In addition, we also have a team of highly trained specialists, surgeons and nurses to recommend appropriate treatment options and post-surgery care to help patients in their recovery journey and wellbeing,” she added.

“Breast Cancer is a treatable disease with early detection and treatment. At BCWA, we provide emotional and psycho-social support to breast cancer survivors. We are very grateful to ParkCity Medical Centre for the support and contribution to enable cancer survivors live a more meaningful and fulfilling life,” said Ranjit Kaur, its president.

At PMC - besides its “Pink October” visual branding campaign - several activities were organised throughout the month. These included health talks, free breast check-ups, breast screening at promotional prices, breast self-examination demonstrations by CanCare, special fit-out and promotional bra offers by Neubodi, fund raising sales by staff of the PMC chemotherapy unit and interactive sessions with post-surgery patient support group, Pink Warriors.
