Novo Nordisk expands KL office, reaffirms commitment to patient careApril 30, 2025
Novo Nordisk Malaysia today announced the successful reopening of its expanded office, further reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the lives of patients living with diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases. This significant milestone was marked by a special inauguration ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including the Danish Ambassador to Malaysia, who officiated the office renovation.
The expansion of Novo Nordisk Malaysia’s office aligns with the company’s growth strategy, with its headcount increasing from 106 employees in 2021 to 159 employees in 2025. This investment not only strengthens its operational capabilities but also underscores its dedication to delivering innovative solutions in diabetes care, obesity management, and chronic disease treatment. The new office was designed with Novo Nordisk’s global principles of operating a sustainable business in mind. It features eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient practices, and its facilities aim to promote the well-being of employees and visitors alike. "Novo Nordisk's investment is both invigorating and a testament to the robust partnership between Denmark and Malaysia. This expansion reinforces our shared commitment to advancing healthcare for chronic diseases. I was particularly impressed by the company’s sustainability initiatives and concrete measures like repurposing office furniture and implementing a composter. Setting ambitious goals for 2025 highlight Novo Nordisk's proactive approach in promoting sustainability alongside improving healthcare”, said Danish Ambassador to Malaysia, Kirstine Vangkilde Berner. Jay Thyagarajan, Senior Vice President, Region APAC, Novo Nordisk, remarked that, "today marks a significant milestone for Novo Nordisk in the APAC region as we unveil our expanded office in Malaysia. The new office represents our continued commitment to transforming the standards of diabetes and obesity care in Malaysia and across the region. In recent years, we have invested over 40 million MYR in various clinical development and patient access programs. With this office expansion, we aim to provide a sustainable working environment for our employees and thus are poised to broaden our outreach and drive more impactful change in the lives of countless individuals living with these chronic conditions." Cihan Serdar Kizilcik, General Manager of Novo Nordisk Malaysia, stated, "the reopening of our expanded office is a transformative milestone for Novo Nordisk. Our enhanced team is set to provide exceptional support to patients and healthcare partners. This expansion is not merely about growth; it reaffirms our commitment to patient-centered care and meaningful change for those with chronic conditions." |
