IHH Healthcare invests in TibaRay to transform cancer care with precision radiotherapyJanuary 29, 2026
IHH Healthcare has made a strategic investment in TibaRay, a US based medical technology company developing next-generation radiation therapy. The investment reinforces the group’s commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and transformative advancements.
This breakthrough technology aligns closely with IHH’s ambition to catalyze next-level care through meaningful innovation, strategic partnerships and powerful synergies. The investment also supports IHH’s broader transformation agenda to futureproof care and advances its Centres of Excellence strategy across oncology, cardiology, and orthopedics. TibaRay is pioneering a novel approach to radiotherapy through its proprietary linear accelerator technology which enables FLASH therapy, delivering radiation at ultra-high speeds – up to over 400 times faster than current technologies – with a high degree of precision. By significantly shortening treatment time and improving dose control, the technology has the potential to reduce any unnecessary radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue, increase treatment precision and efficacy while largely enhancing overall treatment experience for patients. This revolutionary technology was built upon years of research and over a dozen background patents by leading institutions in the United States particle-accelerator physics field, including Stanford University, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, and Arizona State University. Its exclusive know-how enables the building of the most power efficient compact linear accelerator, delivering ultra-rapid treatment that paves the way for FLASH therapy. As part of the collaboration, IHH will work with TibaRay on clinical evaluation, knowledge exchange and future deployment opportunities, strengthening the group's efforts cancer care capabilities across key markets. Delivering clinical excellence and advancing oncology care IHH has a strong track record of pioneering advanced cancer treatments across Asia. It is the first private healthcare provider in the region to offer proton therapy in Singapore and the first to explore upright photon therapy. This commitment is further reinforced through the group’s continued investments in state-of-the-art medical technologies such as the Linear Accelerator (LINAC) platforms and Gamma Knife radiosurgery, across its network in Singapore, Malaysia and India. The investment in TibaRay builds on a series of strategic initiatives to advance oncology innovation, including partnerships with Lucence and Leo Cancer Care, reflecting IHH’s disciplined and long-term approach to advancing cancer care. In 2019, IHH invested in Lucence through its Innovation Fund to support precision oncology diagnostics and has since deployed the genomic test across its labs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and India. Lucence’s advanced diagnostic capabilities using liquid biopsy enhance early cancer screening and support clinicians in selecting more targeted treatments. In 2024, IHH became the first private healthcare group in Asia to join the Upright Photon Alliance, a global research consortium led by Leo Cancer Care alongside Mayo Clinic, Cone Health, OncoRay, and Centre Léon Bérard. In 2025, IHH expanded its collaboration and became an equity investor in Leo Cancer Care. In 2025, IHH launched its first Research Grant & Innovation Sandbox program among its global employees and clinicians to accelerate clinical research and pilot projects aimed at improving patient outcomes, focusing on areas such as oncology and chronic disease. More recently, it launched its Global Incubator Program to engage healthcare innovators and eco-system partners to develop solutions that can transform patient care. Collectively, these milestones underscore IHH’s longstanding commitment to advancing oncology care through deep clinical expertise, strategic partnerships and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies. |
