This may divert patients to seek alternative treatment at conventional physio centres which would start with a therapist taking down patient’s history, doing an assessment, manipulation, massage and exercise.

Wave therapy
Although the centre offers the same type of physiotherapy as others, Albert was fast to point out that the combined treatment with the CTU-Mega 18 Diamagnetic Device from France was what made patients see fast, effective long-lasting results.

“Unlike any other physical therapy machines, the high speed variation in the magnetic field at one micro second and the super short duration of the magnetic pulses at one milliseconds make for an efficient and sustained delivery system into the deep tissue region.

“Stimulation occurs at a cellular level, allowing deeper penetration than traditional electrical therapy which may aggravate already inflamed tissue. Other advantages include accelerated tissue repair, control and management of pain, movement of cellular liquids to encourage drainage, administration and implant of active molecules of medication,” he added.

Treatment is at 0 per cent payment for individuals covered by insurance and Perkeso. However, patients need to get a referral letter from the government or private medical centre to apply for guarantee letter from insurance companies.

20 centres throughout Malaysia
The first Diamagnetic Physio Centre was established in 2013 in Bukit Rimau, Seksyen 32 Shah Alam, Selangor. The purpose-built centre includes a CTU Mega 18 Diamagnetic Device, rehabilitation equipments and pilates studio in conjunction with a physiotherapy clinic.

In 2014, Bio-Pharmaceuticals acquired the practice to broaden its comprehensive range of healthcare services. The Diamagnetic Physio Centre now has expanded to 20 centres located in Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak both in metropolitan and regional locations and the numbers are growing. Beyond Malaysia, centres are also being planned for Singapore and the ASEAN region.
