Microleap - FootGolf Association partner to elevate Malaysian footgolfJuly 8, 2025
Microleap, today announced a landmark partnership with the FootGolf Association of Malaysia (FGAM). This collaboration, solidified at a signing ceremony and press conference, marks a significant step towards boosting the growth, accessibility, and reach of FootGolf across Malaysia.
The partnership embodies a shared vision of nurturing community engagement and empowering individuals through accessible platforms. Both organizations believe in the power of "small steps" to create "big impact" – Microleap's core philosophy – which perfectly aligns with FGAM’s mission to democratize sports and foster a vibrant FootGolf revolution nationwide. "We are incredibly excited to embark on this journey with the FootGolf Association of Malaysia," said Tunku Danny Nasaifuddin Muzaffar, Founder and CEO of Microleap. This partnership is a natural extension of that. FootGolf, with its blend of skill, strategy, and accessibility, perfectly mirrors our values of financial inclusion and innovation. We believe that by supporting FGAM, we can help build a robust platform for the sport, encouraging participation from all walks of life and making a truly positive impact on Malaysian sports culture." The FootGolf Association of Malaysia, established as the official governing body for FootGolf in the country, has been instrumental in promoting the sport's unique blend of football and golf. Through organizing tournaments, developing courses, and fostering a growing community, FGAM aims to make FootGolf a mainstream sport. Beyond local growth, FGAM is deeply committed to unearthing new talents to represent Malaysia at the next FootGolf World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico, with the ambitious goal of surpassing their impressive top-10 place finish at the 2023 FootGolf World Cup in Orlando, Florida, USA. FGAM's dedication to promoting the sport was further demonstrated by successfully hosting the FootGolf Asia Cup in 2024, where Malaysia competed with five other nations – Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, and Chinese Taipei – achieving a commendable 1st place in the overall Women's Open category and 2nd in both Men's Open and Men's Senior categories. "This collaboration with microLEAP is a pivotal moment for FootGolf in Malaysia," stated Jeffrey Cottam, Vice President of the FootGolf Association of Malaysia. "Their support is crucial as we aim to expand our leagues, host more tournaments, and ultimately provide more Malaysians with the opportunity to discover and excel in this fantastic sport. We envision a future where FootGolf is truly a sport for everyone." The partnership will see Microleap provide significant support for FGAM's upcoming leagues and tournaments, which were also announced during today’s event. This collaboration is expected to enhance the overall participant experience, increase media visibility, and drive broader engagement with the sport across various communities. |
