Nicol David Organization joins the Squash and Education Alliance
March 14, 2025
The Squash and Education Alliance (SEA) is thrilled to announce the Nicol David Organization (NDO) in Kuala Lumpur, as its newest international partner. NDO is a remarkable youth development program dedicated to fostering growth in both sport and personal development for Malaysian youth.
As SEA's seventh international partner and the second in Asia, the Nicol David Organization was founded in 2022 by eight-time World Champion Nicol David and former Colombian squash player Mariana de Reyes. NDO empowers women, children, and families through sport, education, mental health, and community advancement. NDO currently serves 140 children from low- to middle-income families, providing squash training, English tutoring, life skills workshops, and robotics education. Datuk Nicol Ann David expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Through this partnership, we are excited to bring squash to even more communities and provide young people with the resources they need to succeed both on and off the court.” SEA has long utilized squash as a vehicle for educational success, offering mentorship, academic support, and post-secondary resources to young people from underrepresented communities. This collaboration will not only expand SEA’s international reach but also leverage the expertise of David and De Reyes, while NDO will benefit from SEA’s extensive network and experience in educational programming and community-building. Tim Wyant, Executive Director of SEA, stated, “We’re thrilled to welcome the Nicol David Organization as our seventh international partner. By working together, SEA can positively impact more youth in Asia and expand our international network.” Founded in 2005, SEA is the umbrella organization for a network of 21 U.S. member organizations and seven international partners, combining squash, academics, mentoring, and college prep support for over 2,500 students from under-resourced communities. Both SEA and NDO are committed to driving social change and creating lasting impact, with plans to launch joint initiatives in the coming months to inspire and uplift youth worldwide. |
