Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) has once again proven its commitment to providing exceptional patient care as they take home not one, but two prestigious awards at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2023.

Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC) and Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre (BTMC), two of RSDH's esteemed hospitals, were recognised for their contributions to patient care and community service. ADMC made history for their efforts in COVID-19 vaccination for persons with disabilities (PWDs), while BTMC was named the Most Improved Community Hospital of the Year for delivering top-notch healthcare services to its patients and the community.

The Healthcare Asia Awards recognises healthcare providers who innovate and reinvent initiatives to better serve their patients and protect their employees amidst the massive disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards honour hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers that have risen above the challenges and made a remarkable impact on their patients.

"We are immensely grateful to be recognised by the Healthcare Asia Awards for delivering exceptional healthcare services at ADMC and BTMC. These awards reflect our team's unwavering dedication, and we will continue to strive for excellence in all our endeavours," said Peter Hong, Group CEO of RSDH.

Drive-Through vaccination for people with disabilities
ADMC's drive-through vaccination programme, in partnership with Protecthealth Corporation, OKU Sentral, Yayasan Sime Darby, and Sime Darby Plantation, successfully vaccinated 13,500 Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and their caregivers. The initiative aimed to provide a comfortable and efficient vaccination experience, with a dedicated task force overcoming challenges to ensure a smooth process.

Miranda Harumal, Chief Executive Officer of ADMC expressed her gratitude for the recognition of their Vaccination Delivery of the Year award. She stated that their pioneering drive-through vaccination programme was committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to all patients, including those with disabilities, and that their success was a testament to their dedication to innovation and comprehensive care.

ADMC's drive-through vaccination initiative won the "Outstanding Vaccination Contribution for OKU" award in the Public-Private Partnership category presented by the health minister.

Commitment to community service
BTMC prioritises community healthcare, offering multiple specialities and MSQH Accreditation to guarantee the best care and safety for patients. Its dedication to continuous improvement sets it apart as a leader in the industry. During the COVID-19 pandemic, BTMC remained committed to patient care and community service, initiating several notable community initiatives despite challenges.

‘Care 4 Klang' Food Bank
BTMC provided aid during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown by delivering essential food items to those in need, demonstrating selfless acts of kindness and inspiring others.

Program Komuniti Sihat
BTMC's impactful partnership with the Klang Municipal Council and Community Leaders of Pulau Ketam resulted in over 1,000 elderly residents receiving crucial health checks and gaining awareness of the significance of community health.

The Gift of Sight with the Rotary Club Klang Central
'The Gift of Sight' programme has provided free cataract surgeries to 30 recipients in the B40 community of Klang Valley since December 2020, transforming their lives and restoring their vision.

Medical Camp in Kuala Selangor
BTMC provided essential medical care, including dental, eye, and paediatric check-ups for children aged 4 to 13 years old in the estate area, where many struggle with poor eyesight which affects their academic performance.
